The Long Story
Jim Parish started networking computers while working as an advertising photographer in 1983. It was hard to find reasonable rates for that kind of installation for a small business. I had several computers doing different tasks and needed them to share data. In 1986 the photography business became very "soft" and a friend asked me to work with him setting up Novell networks. I managed to install about 30 or 40 Novell networks over the next year with him. So my course was set for the next few years, while my prime business of advertising/commercial photography was on hold. I repaired, installed and sold computers/networks for businesses all over Texas. I learned the "computer business". Cabling became a specialty. In those days unless your company had 3 letters for a name (IBM, ATT, ITT, etc) you didn't install "DATA CABLING". Consequently I learned cabling and wiring techniques. It seemed natural to me. I had worked my way through college as an electrician's helper. An offshoot of this was telephones. It seemed like every office we cabled they couldn't find a "telephone man" to install telephones, so I learned about telephone connectivity. I want to thank Sid ("The Telephone Man") for his patience with me and the BIG jobs he let me work with him. A side business became big, a shareware software distribution business showed me the in's and out's of day to day production, shipping, and customer support. I thought that my career as a photographer was over. I was wrong! Now the internet has brought me full circle, as I create web pages and do web hosting for clients. They have needs for photos, brochures, and other printed material.

All the parts are in place and it has evolved into JP & Assocs. I understand what it means to a small businessman to keep costs under control, to need the "stuff" running and try to feed the family. I am a loose association of experts, who can solve your office problems. I can do the smallest job or expand to do the largest. This means a price tag that reflects the job, not one that includes my overhead. I have brought other people that I have met along the way into my group. Our business is being focused on your problems, to create solutions that will help increase the "bottom line". Prices up front, honest attention to your needs, concern for your staff, efficient resolution of critical situations. You are important.
